looking for jobs and keep getting told pay is national minimum wage but i'm not 100% sure how much tha is for a 17 year old.

the current rates set for the minumum wage are as follows:
16-17yr old - £3-30hr
18-21yr old - £4.45hr
22 and over - £5-35hr

From the 1st October 2006 the following National Minimum Wage pay rates will apply:

Aged 16 and 17: Young workers aged 16 or 17, who have ceased to be of compulsory school age must be paid at least £3.30 per hour (up from £3.00).
