I disconnect to see if the modem shows activity - it does. Is someone using my connection?

IP or port scan on your IP....if your connection has a static(non changing) IP address then you need to call and get it changed....

if it;s dynamic then leave the modem disconnected for a few hours most of the time the computers scanning or trying to connect to you will time out, or who ever is doing it will stop if they think you gone for good...

YUOR Isafe application is working with it's port :)
There are two leds the first called " LAN " and it have two leds :
1- Act : linking when there are a transfer between the modem and the Pc
2 - Link it's allways ON when your Pc detected the modem
The send one calld " ADSL " :
1-ACt :linking when a trafic between the server and your network cart
2- Link : Linking when your modem search if your telephone line is suppored the ADSL and when it find it it w'll lighting all the time

The modem will continue to function without a PC hookup, if the ethernet light is flickering, it is because there is no PC connection for it to connect too. No one can use your DSL service but you. DSL is programmed to your residential phone number.

PING OF DEATH!, lol it could be anything, probably your modem trying to find your computer
