You can wear a shell over your pants as long as you buy the right size.

You have 2 options with the shell. 1. you can wear it over an existing set of pants or 2. you need a girdle. The shell does not contain the pads, it is just like a pair of shorts for lack of batter term. I have worn the shell both ways and prefer the girdle to pants.

no, you can just pull the shell up over your pants. girdles are light and a nice piece of equipment to have, but they are expensive, they average around $100.
