some are stranded for weeks and months, and you never, ever hear about them getting their periods, or it's never part of the movies about them.

Hmm...could be a couple of reasons - the stress of being stranded could have caused their periods to cease as well as the minimal diet on which they are forced to exist. Two, in general, how often is menstruation mentioned in ANY movies (unless there's a plot involved a couple trying to get pregnant or a knocked up teenager)????

The other people are right, it's not something people want to see or hear about, but many of us are curious as to how someone would handle these things if it happened to us.
My niece has always been the outdoor active person, going on treks in the himalayas and kayaking down mongolian rivers. One time I asked her about those personal issues because I was just plain curious. She was very upfront with me and I am grateful. However, it didn't make me feel too comfortable about real widerness travel.

The same reason you rarely see people defecate on film. It's an uncomfortable part of life that people would prefer to ignore unless it is integral to the plot.

lol they do show em havin moods and tantrums every now n then... isnt that enough ??? and trust me even in real life no one wants to know bout a woman's period or nothin likethat... we juss find out seeing their moods... im not being sexist but cmon ur goin to a movie... u dont wanna see that !! or do u ?? ;)

Would you go and see a film with that in it. I wouldnt, Its bad enough goin through in real life without watch it all on a film YUK tooo messy!!!!
