I doubt they can truly bring the US down, but they can do severe damage and cause serious problems.
They have already started teaming up - Al Qaeda is comprised of many different nationalities and gets monetary support from multiple countries.
Groups team up when there is mutual benefit. If the USA could team up with Iraq in the 1980's, knowing full well Saddam was a ruthless dictator, just because they wanted to take out the common enemy, Iran, then it will be done within other parts of the World.
We have instances of Hezbollah and Bin Laden linking up in the past, training of terrorists by other groups, etc.

The United States has always had enemies, whether we want to acknowledge them or not. These enemies didn't suddenly appear as soon as Bush took office or because we invaded Iraq. There have been over 27 terrorist attacks against the United States in the last 25 years that have left over 6500 Americans dead and countless thousands injured. In Clinton's term alone we had the first WTC attack in 1993, US military HQ bombing in Saudi Arabia in 1995, US embassy attacked in Kenya in 1996, US embassy bombed in Tanzania in 1996, and the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000. Seems to me the United States has had PLENTY of enemies before now. The only difference is that now we're fighting back! The problem is that liberals insist that fighting terrorism only creates more terrorists! Go figure!

America is a fortress. It cannot be attached and conquered by an armed force of any kind.
The weakness in America is the dollar. That is the area that is currently being attacked by the enemies of the USA. These enemies are being supported by others who would benefit if the USA loses hegemony in the international commodities market.
The war being fought today is not over some moral right or wrong. It's petrodollars vs. petroeuros. Whichever currency wins the international oil trade wins the war.

No organized military attack would ever work on the domestic United States. We are only vulnerable away from home. Like a vampire.
Seriously, NATO will never let its brother nations stand alone in straightforward war. Even if Iran, Venezuela, North Korea and China all tried to attack us, you'd be amazed at the effectiveness of our Navy and Airforce in preventing them from ever setting foot on North American soil. And if they did, there's this thing called the Army.
I am against nearly all our current foreign and domestic policy, but I don't fear invasion. Our military has been planning for that since 1917, and we are on top of things.

they don't have to unite to pull off a big attack. 9-11 was pulled off by 19 people. That being said, we will have another attack at some point, but that is inevitable regardless of who is in power. My concern is that people get so worked up about politics and the war, that there will be little McVeigh's running around everywhere.

I'd say the hatred in most cases was there long before Bush, so no.
And if we do get attacked, everyone will be thankful for the 2nd amendment. Nothing quite like an Army of 300,000,000 to try to beat!

LOL....the media has done their job well. Will all these enemies be bosom buddies if a Democrat is in office? It would not be pretty for the enemies, that much I can guarantee.

No. The enemies of the US would be hard pressed to continue their lifestyles without us. The fact that many governments around the world envy, fear , and hate us does not mean they would jeopardize their own positions out of spite. The islamics on the other hand are barbarians that must be dealt with harshly. This would be to the benefit of western civilization which to date is the crowning achievement of mankind

It would be very difficult. Look at the European Union for example. They cant get anything accomplished and they don't have to sneak around in caves and back allies to coordinate their efforts.
Your question is ridiculous at best.
