Yes, it is possible. In the last election many thought that any one but Bush was a good platform. They put it to the test with Kerry and lost. I liked Edwards back then, and would have voted differently if the ticket was reversed. My wife liked Dean the last time around, and was upset he did not make it past the primaries.
The sad realization is that just because someone can win their parties nomination, the general election is a whole differen ball game. Things that hurt you in the primaries, may play better to the middle of the road people. Knowing how to pick your fights is a good thing for anyone, and if you want to hear it or not Clinton has more experience at it and plays harder.
So the GOP can not relax just because there is a battle between Clinton and Obama.

Why do the Clintons fight so dirty? Maybe because they're politicians? Did you notice how dirty Bush fought to get the Presidency? Have you listened to McCain and Gulliani lately?
It's standard operating procedure for BOTH parties. Attack the character of anyone who stands against you, even in your own party. Then if they get the nomination, and they're in your party, contradict everything you said before and boast about how great they really are.
Obama is the only one who, at least so far, has avoided slandering his opponents in either party, and like Bobby Kennedy has only explained his vision for America. We'll see if he can continue his positive campaign until the primary and then the election. If history is any indicator, he'll probably have to get into the muck with all the rest of them, Republican and Democrat. Let's hope not.
But remember, attacking one's policies is not the same as attacking the person. That's politics.

I don't want Hillary or Obama as President. I think the press is Hyping obama, but that eventually, they will pull the rug out from under Obama so that hillary can shine. She is the press's horse in this race. I hope neither of them win. As for the clinton's they always fight dirty.

Its the Democratic party who is gonna pave the way for GOP victory. With the games they are having fun playing in congress and they are actually not doing what they promised as a whole.

I doubt either will get the nomination anyway. But leading the way to the next GOP victory? Thats going to be Pelosi, Reid and Murtha.

No, I think that the GOP nominee won't have the full support of his party and people will vote instead for Ron Paul or Tancredo if they run as third party or independents. Clinton would coast into the White House like her husband did, Bill got in because conservatives were split between Perot and Bush. Hopefully the GOP nomination won't go to one of the people listed as front runners so we won't have to worry about it.

If it gets as bad as it sounds it may, it could easily end up with John Edwards getting the nomination.
furthermore, dont expect the republicans to come out unscathed. Giuliani is ruthless, there are no limits he wont push to get what he wants, and McCain, while not being a man of principle after letting George Bush slander him in SC in 2000 then kissing and making up - knows this is his absolute last shot.
My gut tells me the race will be Gingrich - Edwards

All this pushing and shoving is to be expected as the American electorate has said it wants a 'strong leader'. Its a tough line to walk between being a reasonable push over and being an leader who does not take 'crap'. I'm glad I'm not running.
