My doctor has currently signed me off work for two weeks as I am mentally unfit to work. I have been experiencing quite a lot of financial problems since the last year, and have a lot of responsibilities as the ain breadwinner in my family. To make matters worse, the possibility of being made redundant in my current job in the next few months is very much a possibility. I have applied for three high profile jobs n the last couple of months, and attended the interviews, and got positive feedback from the companies concerned- they all were very impressed by me, but have had three rejections. I just dont understand what to do. No matter how hard I try and despite my best intentions I am always rejected. I have years work experience and two university degrees. I am thinking of ending it all because there is no end to my problems.

I am sorry you are having so much trouble at this time in your life. You are going through some very stressful times and the two most important things to remember are these:

Take care of yourself both mentally and physically. Do not allow yourself to become rundown and get sick. Eat healthy food, exercise, think positive thoughts, meditate, pray, whatever it is that you do to re-establish your equilibrium. Get professional help if you need it.

The second thing to remember is that you are not alone in your woes. I read somewhere that it is common to change careers at least three times during your working life. I have lost my job to redundancy and downsizing twice and so has my husband. It happens to most people. It doesn't mean you are a poor worker or a bad person. It simply means that the company you work for was only looking at their bottom line and doesn't care about their employees' well-being.

Hang in there. Take advantage of any outplacement or re-education benefits your company offers. Take a temporary, part time job to help with the finances and keep looking for your dream job. It will show up. You will recover from this trouble. Good luck!
