people always say "oh, bullying is a normal part of life," and "oh they don't mean any harm, don't let them get to you," but in reality, people commit suicide over the effects that being bullied has had on them----why don't more people know this? or do they know it, but do they just not care? I personally think its always easier to minimize a situation if you're not in it and going through it yourself. just like if you have a bad stomachache, the average person probably would tell you "just down some pepto and take a nap-you'll feel better," but if if they were feeling the same pain, it probably wouldn't be that simple. Don't you agree?

Bullying is NOT a normal part of life. It is an abusive behavior that should not be tolerated. It creates many problems that aren't even acknowledged such as low self-esteem, even dropping out of school.
There are people who care but unfortunately, unless teachers or parents are willing to step up to the plate and punish those who bully, it's going to continue.
Bullies are weaklings. They NEVER pick on someone who can kick their butts. They go for weaker, vulnerable people. It sickens me.

Having experieneced serious bullying for an exceptionally long time due to a small school where all classes k-12 went to school in the same building, I totally agree with you.

I cannot stand the word bullying, because that word denies the reality of what bullying truly is, which is "abuse" it mental, physical, and yes, sexual abuse. If parents did to their children what children do to other children, their kids would be taken away.
