You need to re-ask this question as Would you give up....
in exchange for "safety from terrorists".
Sad to say, you will get some yes answers...
EDIT:
If you aren't thinking of Chavez, then you're over looking him. He's been promising nothing but economica fariness at the expense of all forms of privatization. He is also rigging the electoral process... it's sad really..

nope.
this is the question that germans were asked in the last decades of the 19th and first of the 20th century.
they traded off political liberty for economic stability.
just a quick glance at a history book about the aftermath of WWI and WWII will give you an idea of how well that worked out for them.
besides, the question is moot - this is america and no such thing can take place here as long as we base our govt on the constitution...

No
It with free elections, free speech, and free press that got this nation to where it is now.
I like more detail please.
I do know that some people want us to give up our way of life for a theoretically idea that is still being debated.
Here is my guess: Soros

No, I am not going to give up my Constitutional rights for anything. Hitler did the same thing. He built up Germany's economy, but he also took away everyone's rights away in the process. And so did every other dictator that has taken control of their country. As long as I still have a breath in me, I will not let that happen here.

The result of giving up our freedoms would not give the majority of citizens a better economic situation. Your question makes no sense

Chavez is doing this more than anybody! Socialism and Facism never works! Bush, Hillary, Cheney, and Obama are trying to bring this into America! All sides are controlling and out of control! I would die for freedom and for the freedom of others!

First, who is giving these things up? Second, what "theoretically better economic situation? Third, why are these two situations mutually exclusive? Is it not possible to have both? It certainly not happening in the States, maybe in China.

I think your queston revolves around the socialist mentality, ie China, venezula etc..
The answer for me is no. id rather be poor and have my freedoms. Then just as rich as anyone else but have a dictator dictate what can be said, what internet can be used, etc etc
