And, if you have a membership card for Youth Hostels, you can stay in any good youth hostel around the world for a very low price.

Greetings from Germany

I'm not sure what's affordable to you, but hotels are much cheaper in Mumbai / Bombay than other places around the globe.

I can't and probably wouldn't want to recommend one over the other as there are some great hotels ... but there are other considerations ....

Your best bet is to do some research and establish where you want to stay, have a look at this directory and sort the results by price, star rating and location.

The directory is admininisted by one of the leading providors of hotel contracts worldwide, so the star ratings will be fairly reliable. They also have good customerservice back up.

Good luck with your planning

Explore the city that never rests and is always abuzz with activity. This city is Mumbai! Discover it with hotelbye . Mumbai is in all ways a mega-city pushed by energy, wealth, style and celebrity which draws people to provide shape to their dreams and aspirations. Mumbai can also be a town with solid historic hyperlinks, amazing British architecture, museums, beaches, areas of praise, and especially, a genuine universe of stars wherever Bollywood reigns supreme. You can't visit Mumbai and not have enjoyment on their beaches and the two most popular beaches are the Juhu Beach and the Chowpatty Beach.

Hello, from personal experience the booking.com works great for me.
You can find good offers, reviews and ratings from guests (a great tool to decide based on other people bad or good experience).
I'm using it the last three years and I didn't have any problems. The hotels and the rooms were exactly as I red on site.
The maps also gives you an idea where the hotels reside.
The reservation process is easy and you don't need to pay with credit card.

Don't stay in the Ramee Hotel in Juhu. Service is slow. Communication between staff is non existent and so info is not passed to their guests. The noise from the nightclub and function rooms keeps you awake at night as does the noise from the lift.

Also wanted to say that you could take a look at TripAdvisor http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ to see what other travellers say. It's a good website, although maybe too many adverts for my liking.
