The saying, "what goes around, comes a round", is a bout actions,(good & bad), not a bout lessons. For example, if you are a happy, friendly person, who smiles a lot, people are happier a round you, and smile back at you more, if you are unhappy, grumpy, that is what you get back from others. But I do have a funny story, a bout the saying, a couple of years ago,my husband,my 12yr. old daughter & I were in the downtown area,(lots of homeless people in that part of town), we had an hour to kill, before seeing a show, so we decided to sit in a near by park, there was a very clean, elderly, but clearly homeless man sitting in the park, I had seen him earlier in the day, so I knew he had been there for hours, he just watched the people go by, he never asked anyone for money, or spoke to anyone, it was a very hot day, and I made the commit to my husband, that I did'nt think the man had anything to drink all day, or even any food. My husband walked over to the guy, talked to him a few minutes, and came back, and I said OK, how much did you give him, and he replied, just a couple of bucks. We began to get thristy from the heat, and my husband remembered a hotdog cart a round the corner, we were just going to get sodas, but the smell of hotdogs made my husband & daughter hungry so they picked out food & drinks, when my husband started to pull out his money, he reconized the vender, he was one of our customers, he bought his supplies from our store, to shorten a long story, he refused to let my husband pay for our snacks,(a bout $12), walking back to the park, my husband says OK, it was 10 dollars, what was 10 dollars, I asked, I gave the old man 10 dollars, not 2, he replied, and now the vender would not take my 12 dollars. This is when our daughter asked, "oh is that what they mean, when they say what goes a round comes a round?", we just smiled, and said yes.
