A wrench and a screw driver

Two people and a wrench the size of the bolt under the hood at the back.
You need two people as these can be heavy
have one person hold the hood open.
Remove washer hose connections.
Remove hood light connection if an under hood light is installed
The other removed the four to six bolts holding the hood on. Take it by the sides and walk forward removing the hood.

Turn it over and use it for a sled when it snows or better yet. hang on to it as you will need it when you want to cover the engine

depends on the car but usually just a box-end wrench or a socket set to remove the bolts holding either the hood to the hinges or the hinges from the body. I always recommend taking the hood off the hinges, but you will want to make sure someone or something is holding onto the hood when you do it. I've seen people undo the bolts and let the hood slide into their windshield. that makes a heck of a mess.

Hoods are typically held with 4 bolts to the hinges. It's generally about a 1/2" size (or the metric equiv). You can use a regular wrench but a socket will go quicker and easier.

This is also a two person job.
