Those tests WILL NOT WORK correctly only a day or two after a missed period. Try to calm down, take a couple of deep breaths, wait until at least a week after your missed period, and THEN re-take the test.
I know it's hard to be so anxious while you wait a week. But, believe me: A "false negative" test is not a good thing! If one is pregnant, the sooner one knows about it, the better (in terms of making choices, living a healthy lifestyle if one is carrying to term, etc.).

Its a evaporation line. All tests have a invisible positive line that for the most part can not been seen before the test is taken. If you put it up too the light though you can see the faint line. After a hour that line will appear. It is not a positive results. Here is a great site about it:
http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html
The Test/Result line turns pink only if pregnancy hormone is detected. If not, the moisture passes over this strip and does not turn pink. It may, however, become more visible when the light hits the moisture on the strip-- it may appear gray, colorless, like a "dent" in the test, or like a "ghost line." It may appear at any time-- as soon as the urine hits it, after a few minutes as the test absorbs the moisture, or after the 10-minute time limit. It may appear when the test is drying, or after it has dried. It may disappear as the test is drying, or after the test has dried, or not disappear at all.
The simple fact is that there is always "something there" that is slightly visible-- it's simply the antibodies on the test that would turn pink in the presence of hCG. When the test becomes wet, or as it dries, or after it dries, the antibody strip may become more visible. Therefore, all tests may have them. It is not a defect; it's just how tests are made.

You should never read a test after 10 minutes as all test will start to look positive just after. Evaporative lines show up quite dark as well.It can sometimes take a whole 10 minutes to show. Test again and look no longer than 10 minutes. A line can be faint it just means its early. Make sure you test in the morning as HCG are stronger then.Dont get your hopes up and good luck.

initially, it replaced into maximum probably an extremely faint beneficial.. interior the morning it replaced into probably an evaporation line, you will desire to retest the following day morning...in case you get yet another faint beneficial, i could pass have a blood try. Your familiar family individuals Dr can be certain being pregnant.. in case you're then i could call your ob/gyn and notice whilst they could desire to be certain you.

The same thing happened to me. The positive line was VERY faint and it turned out that I was pregnant. Take another test to be sure. Since you just missed your period, the pregnancy hormone may not be that strong hence the faint positive line.

You cannot trust results seen after the specified time. There is a reason they put a time limit on there. Retest in a few days and THROW IT AWAY after the time is up. Best of luck.
