a number gives missed call when i call back doesnt respond

Hey it happened to me too.. But you can't get the details of the number for that you need to file an complaint against the number then the network providers will give the details to the police station with whom you have filed the complaint.. But its too complicated..
But i can suggest you an easier solution..
Try calling that number from public booth or using your friends mobile... Then He (*the person giving missed calls) will not know its you.. so, he will defenitely receive the call..

There is no cell phone directory in India. The different cellular service operators do maintain a database of their subscribers but don't publish a directory with the information. They share the information with law enforcement authorities only when approached with a problem. In this regard Comfortably numb's answer seems to be quite useful for your problem.
