If this is your first time, you will want to spend one night just checking out the main strip. It's gorgeous at night and there is alot of free fun stuff. Treasure Island has a great show in front at night, the times are always posted, and be there early if you want a good vantage point. Like 1 hour before it starts. Also, the fountain at Bellagio is fantastic, and the volcano at the Mirage. Also, don't forget to check out Downtown's Freemont Street Experience. Love that, great on a Saturday night. Lots of music and light shows and fun. Cheap place to go eat and drink.
Now for the shows, I don't know what you want to spend, but, if you have between $100 to $200 to spend for tickets we loved Le Reve at the Wynn. It's similar to alot of Cirque De Soliel shows. But it was amazing. Also, we love Blue Man Group at the Venetian. They are fantastic. And it's very audience participative. I liked that alot. All the Cirque De Soliel shows are of course great. And if you want a family fun show with dinner, we like the Tournament of the Kings at the Excalibur. It's realitively inexpensive compared to other shows and you get alot of fun and a really surprisingly good dinner. Can't be sensitive to animals or dust though. Lots of that with some piro stuff too. But, we like it. It's a staple for if we go with someone who's never been to Vegas and want dinner and a show. So there is some suggestions, just research your options, there is alot of good information on the internet. Just check it out and plan ahead. No matter how long you stay, it's never enough. Have fun.

If you want to see a production show, I recommend the show at Bally's, "Jubilee" (there is a "top covered" version for families at about 7:00PM) and the show at the MGM, "KA". These will cost about $100 each; that's the going rate for production shows in Vegas now. I aso suggest that you buy tickets online before you go, particularly if you want to see a Circ d Sol show. You can try for discounted show tickets at a booth in the building with the coke bottle, look for Coke World and the M&M factory. They are same day tickets sold on a first come basis. I have never done this but see people doing it. If you are in Vegas as a couple, you will be stopped many times by folks in a number of hotels trying to offer free stuff in exchange for listening to time share presentations. They will get on your nerves. But if you don't mind sitting through a time share presentation you can get free show tickets or some cash. I also recommend Gladys Knight’s show at the Flamingo and also the George Wallace comedy show at the Flamingo. Clint Holmes' show at Harrahs is good but I didn't care for The Scintas at the Rio Hotel. If you like oldies, go see the show at the Sahara Hotel featuring the Drifters, Flamingos, and Coasters.

My number one recommendation is Celine Dion ... she is fabulous. If you can order your tickets in advance, there shouldn't be a problem getting a decent seat. Even the seats in the top mezzanine are good, but try to get the front row up there.
I also really liked Mystere at Treasure Island, LeReve at Wynn and KA at MGM. After seeing LeReve twice, "O" was a big let down, so I don't recommend it. The Beatles "Love" is also good at The Mirage.
Mystere tickets are pretty cheap compared to the rest, so if money is an issue, go see it.
Have fun!

You will love Vegas Not only for the gambling but all the entertainment. It's hard to pick a great show as I Iike them all. There are plenty of free things to watch also. Check out the dancing fountains at night, Cesar's Palace anytime every hour on the hour. As for shows Blue Men aren't to bad and Ceileon was awesome but hard to get tickets for it. Drink plenty water and carry chap stick. You are in the middle of the desert and trust me you will need both

Cirque D' Soleil - O at Bellagio is my personal favorite. But there are plenty of other shows to choose from incl. Celine Dion, Danny Gans, Mystere, Jubilee, Blue Man Group, magic shows, etc.

I saw Love (the Cirque Beatles show) at The Mirage in October and it was awesome. You have to buy tickets a month in advance for this show. I also saw O in November. It was amazing. I bought tickets the day before. Anything Cirque should be good.

The Blue Man Group is alot of fun. Also, Cirque du Soleil has several different shows to choose from. Penn and Teller are quite funny, too.

Celine or Elton depending who is in town
Barry Manilow
Danny Gans

You generally can't go wrong with a Cirque D' Soleil show - O and Mystere are my faves. I haven't seen KA, and my boss told me not to waste my time and money on Zumanity - she said it was so vulgar, she was offended. (And she's so not a prude!)
If you want wackyness - Blue Man Group.
Danny Gans is amazing - but REALLY hard to get tickets for last I tried.

Okay, I haven't seen it but from reviews and various awards I hear that Celine Dion's show is fantastic! But it sells out so you might want to book your tickets now!
