You might as well be dead. I'm learning this the hard way right now. All of the money has been made in this country, and shame on our mothers for giving birth in these circumstances. Why don't we all commit a mass suicide to show personal pride?

Much of the American population makes under 20,000 dollars a year (the poverty line). It's not something new for people to live in poverty, so I don't understand why one should complain. If you have enough time to get on a computer, log onto a website, and make a question complaining about it then I would think you could have used that money and that time to have done something constructive and make your life better!

P.S. Mass suicide is dumb.

Money is not a zero-sum game. It is not already made, but being constantly exchanged for value. Money is just a representation of value. Suppose Bill Gates has $100B. That money is not locked-up so to speak... For e.g. He builds a house for $100m, the builders earn that money, they buy supplies like wood, the loggers earn that money becasue they added value by chopping wood, the loggers buy a personal pick-up truck, GM employee who earns their money goes to the deli for a sandwich, and so on......Now what about his money in the bank--- that money is creating wealth as well.. the bank is loaning that money out to a small business owner, who starts a carpet cleaning business, and hires staff, etc...my advice to you is that everyone in America has the opportunity to add value and earn an honest paycheck.. Try to be positive and focus on a career...

Man, I'm poor, always have been. But this is America. It's noones fault but yours. You gotta have goals and actually work hard to fulfill them. Hey, at least we always have places we can turn to for help. When I was little we had to live in a women's shelter for a while. And we got Christmas presents from our church. Help is there when you need it. Don't take advantage of it though. You have all the opportunities everyone else does, you might just have to work harder at it.

"Poor in America" is completely different from, say, "poor in India." Even the poor here have enough to eat, and most people who consider themselves poor still have TVs, cell phones, etc. It's hard to see when you're broke, but America is still the most prosperous nation on earth, and it's better to "poor" here than anywhere else.

Your poor because you dont know anything about money. Why dont you take some accounting class and business courses to learn about our system and ways of gaining money instead of crying that you are poor. Do something about it!!

Get over yourself.

America is a land of nearly limitless opportunity, and people are free to succeed at the level of THEIR best abilities and ambitions--not their parents' abilities and ambitions.
