She does it about twice a day (shes 7 weeks). Sometimes with a dummy in but mostly without. She can heave between 3-6 times and has to catch her breath after. Does anyone else have this or know what it could be?
from a worried mum.
Thanks guys..x

Some of you made me feel so terrable that i tok her straight to the hospital tonight. Doc said nothings wrong with her, just that some of her dinner comes back up and blocks her airway for a few seconds.
Thanks to those of you with valuable advice.

Always best to check with the doctor.
Sounds like an allergy to the formula.
I heard of a kid that did this...When
babies are learning to control their
muscles from the inside out, that's
why legs are last. They will sometimes
learn that they can control their throat
muscles. They will spit up with such
force it will scare the bjesus ot of you.
This can sometimes lead to them
trying to control the parents with this
behavior. I sure wish I could remember
the site. This only happens with babies
between 6 weeks and 6 months, that
are very, very intelligent. So if your baby
starts sitting up early and walking early,
you have a really smart kid. Start learning
all the new teaching skills early Mom.

Has she always done it, its best to get it checked out as soon as possible because it could be breathing related or a problem with swallowing. It may just be something she does though. Try not to worry, but do get her looked at. Also try: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

My little brother used to do that! Just take her to the health visitor or doc, but try the lying her on her belly trick, trapped wind does weird things to babies! x

it sounds a bit like colic have u tryed laying her on her belly to wind her. as the wind could be causing her to retch.
apart from that i have no idea the best thing to do is go to your gp or ask ur health visitor it may just be her reflux growing and developing.

i am a mom and i would never ask random strangers questions regarding my childs health. we dont know your medical history nor are we trained medical professionals trained to diagnose this kind of thing. even if we were we cant see the child to see whats happening
