First, copy down the error code when you get the BSOD. Then Google the error code to find out what it means. Then go from there. Do a scan disk and a chkdsk to check for disk errors. That will help to confirm or eliminate the hard drive issue. Was the hard drive making any noise before this occurred? Try using Ad-Aware, AVG Antivirus, Spy-bot Search & Destroy in safe mode to eliminate those possibilities. They are free to download. Update them after you download them. Try doing a repair install using the WinXP installation disk.

it might not. when the computer restarts from a bsod, the safe mode selection screen usually has an option to disable automatic restart. select that and you'll see the bsod error code. if you reinstalled the os, then you have a hard ware device issue. and it's probably not your hard drive. you have to make sure you have the right drivers installed for the rest of your hard ware.

It is possible. BSOD errors are usually caused when hardware windows thinks is there is no longer there.....seeing as how you can run windows in safe mode would mean that its a problem with another peice of hardware not the harddrive. I would try reseating (remove dust off/replace) all the cards in your system and then change out all the IDE cables to the CD and harddrives ,.. that should do ya...

Good Luck

Your exterior hardpersistent ought to instruct as an icon on your exhibit. merely drag and drop each little thing you want on thatpersistent. in case you want to sparkling area on your device's hardpersistent then do no longer forget approximately to delete despite the fact which you progression onto the Lacie as quickly as you have checked that it has transferred efficiently. in case you want to start up putting stuff quickly on the Lacie then merely specify it by means of fact the trip spot everytime you save something. you have a tremendous volume of skill because it stands and that i'm uncertain why you want to flow stuff onto the Lacie, except that's for motives of backup, that's clearly a reliable thought. that's a shame you're no longer on a Mac, as you're able to then have, on Leopard, the remarkable Time device facility which will advise never dropping something ever back. in case you do no longer think of you're lots reliable at desktops make your next one a Mac - they're less difficult, smarter, and cooler than a laptop, and lots much less confusing to apply. Vista is the place Mac became approximately ten years in the past.

I don´t think is a hardware issue, maybe the drivers you´re installing. Go to manufacturer of your motherboard and get the latest drivers. This should solve your problem out.

It sounds like Hard drive Failure. A new HD should help.
