Why would they report where he'll be stationed? To cut down this young man would be a good notch on the belt of the insurgents.

Because the media are more interested in using the pretense of concern for his welfare as leverage to further their political agenda, and would be more than happy to compromise the safety of a royal heir to that end. The 'insurgents' (nice use of PC euphemism there) aren't the only ones who would take propaganda value from his death.

Look at the training photos - if someone didn't tell you there was a prince running around you'd never know who he was. If he were quietly deployed without all the hullabaloo nobody would ever know the difference. The media attention is *intended* to raise the awareness of his presence which they feign so much concern over.

I agree with that. They would love to get their hands on a Royal Prince. It also puts his comrades in more danger than they already are. However, I also don't agree that he should get a free pass out of duty. If he's in the military, he should be treated like everyone else. I don't know what the answer is.
