Also, wouldn't criminals and terrorists be able to get guns even if ALL guns were banned? How will gun restrictions make us safer?

All banning guns does is make it impossible for good citizens to protect themselves against the bad guys.

Banning certain types of guns don't reduce crime, if anything it increases it because people who then own or sell those types are breaking the law. Bad guys, who want guns will find a way to get a gun, or they will become proficient with other types of weapons i.e. knives, swords, bats etc. I believe everyone who is not a convicted criminal should be allowed to carry a gun anytime anywhere and that laws should be lax enough that any one attempting to break into a person's house or car or committing an act of violence can be shot. When the bad guys know they will be shot if they try to commit a crime then crime wil go down.

You know that is a good question. I've been asking the same question. They can always get the guns at black market so I suppose they think that it will not be as easy to get guns if they are banned. To answer your second question. I don't see how we are safer cause then we innocent people will not be able to defend ourselves. In Nebraska they have just passed a law that we can have concealed weapons as long as we are registered and pay a license fee. So I agree we aren't safer if they totally ban gun. Remember guns don't kill people, people kill people.

They DON'T. All gun laws do are taking away rights from law abiding gun owners. A criminal is not going to care if there are laws outlawing guns. They will still have them. Look at drugs, they are illegal, but you can still get them in almost any city in America. Believe it or not there are many peaceful uses for guns. Things like hunting or target practice. Why should all people lose there rights to own guns because of a few criminals who don't care about the laws anyways? We should work to enforce the laws we have now and not place new burdens on law abiding gun owners.

It doesn't.

The large majority of guns used in crime were obtained illegally.

An unarmed citizen is a target, an armed citizen is a deterrent. I wear my gun all the time and have never been a victim or even had a crime go down around me. If crim's see a person wearing a gun they go somewhere else to commit the crime.

The looser gun laws are in the USA it has been found, that crime goes down.
Criminals don't want to be confronted by someone having a gun too. And anti gun laws have NEVER stopped criminals from getting any.

It doesn't. Cain killed Able without a gun. Gun laws make uninformed, frightened people feel safer, that's why Hitler was able to totally disarm the German populous in the late 30's

These laws are about as efficient at reducing crime as the rehabilitation approach.

Just by looking at other nations with stringent gun laws have less crime. So, are you saying let's not pass laws that ban guns just because people can still obtain them legally? Why make it easier for them?
