for me, it took about two weeks to get pregnant. i didn't even have a chance to have a period that wasn't influenced by my pills. i was on the "mini pill" though. i'm 27.
here ya go:
How do I stop using NuvaRing® if I want to get pregnant?
Simply stop -- your normal fertility should return in a short period of time. Results of a clinical study conducted by Organon would indicate that return to normal ovulation typically occurs within 13 to 28 days following removal of the ring.*

It really depends on a few things:
a) how regular you were before going on birth control-if you were very regular most likely everything would return to normal 1-12 months afterward
b)I have heard some people say it depends on the type of birth control although I can't agree with this because my friend was on the shots and got pregnant which is supposed to be highly effective and I've seen my sister-in-law get pregnant 2 months after the pills and unexpectedly while on the pills the second time
c)How often you have sex-Of course if you arent' having sex every few days your chances will decrease
d)how long it took you to get pregnant with your first can sometimes tell how long it may take. Not necessarily of course but sometimes.
Overall most doctors say it can take a healthy couple up to 1 year to get pregnant. So of course if it doesn't happen by a year you would need to make sure things are okay. Women nowadays sometimes have problems getting pregnant with their second, third and sometimes even fourth or more child.
I wouldn't worry though since most women either accidentally get pregnant while on birth control or within a few months after stopping them.

The how long depends on person to person and they say women on the pill like bc tend to return to fertility sooner than any other but it does depend on the woman with the nuvaring they say that the longest youcan take it out is 3 hours then have it back in for a while to be effective but i know for me i was on ortho tricyclen 28 day and took the last active pill had a period and two weeks after my period i conceived found out i was pregnant 5 days before my period so it also depends on if you are fertile or if it took you a while to conceive with the first child you may have the same things happen again so it could be soon after stopping or it could be 6 months its up to your body

It depends on what kind of birth control you are on. If you're on the minipill, you could get pregnant right away. If you're taking an estrogen based birth control pill, it could happen right away, but most doctors say 3 months. If you are on the shot, it could take 6 months to a year. IUD's you can start trying and get pregnant again right away. These are only averages though. As soon as you are no longer on birth control, there is a chance that you could become pregnant. Everyone's body is different though.

I've heard it can take 6 months or more for fertility to return fully. Also, hormonal birth control depletes vitamin stores, especially B vits. It is necessary to nourish yourself and prepare your body for pregnancy while TTC.
I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Charting your fertility signs (such as cervical fluid and basal body temperature) can tell you a great deal about your cycle, not just when you might be ovulating. It can tell you when you are fertile (women are usually fertile for a few days before ovulation as well as the day of ovulation and the day after), when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregancy. Your charts can also tell you if there is an impediment to conception or carrying a pregnancy or if there is a serious problem which needs a doc's attention. Many cycle problems can be solved at home though.
Some good sources: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

It could be anytime. I was on low-ogestral for 11 years and my Dr. said it would probably take about 3-6 months. I stopped taking the pill and got pregnant on the first try, apparently we were on the express plan! He aha ha! I think it's different for everybody so if you stop, be ready for anything! Good Luck!

Hi!
I had been on the pill for almost ten years. I got pregnant within months of stoping the pill but miscarried. I have been trying since and have been unsuccesful. I has now been 9 months. I guess it all depends on how long you were on the pill and how fast your body can adjust and get your cycle back to normal. I wish you the best of luck.
