All are those are reasons that family values are in decline. We are raising the "It Ain't My Fault" generation. Makes no difference what the kids do today there is always a bleeding heart liberal to explain it away. When a 12 yr old punk shot and kills three kids standing in a line to see a movie. - It wasn't his fault. - It was his father's fault for not locking the gun up. When asked why he killed the kids, the punk smiled and said, "I just wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone."
Kids today are not held responsible for their actions. On TV, I saw a 16 yr old boy who is the father of seven kids. Who is supporting them? U - N - Me.
But the boy sat and smiled and was so proud of himself. He should be put on a farm with a hoe and a row that he can't see the end of. Working to support those babies.
The problem is, we are not allowed to teach our kids right from wrong. I never beat my kids. But, they were spanked after all else failed. Now days, you can not even ground your kids to get their attention.
The biggest thing I can think of is, kids are not allowed to pray in school. So if their families do not make sure they know God, Who Will? You can bet your butt someone will throw a fit if someone mentions Jesus or the Holy Bible. But, someone else has the RIGHT to read from the Karna.
As far as Alternative Lifestyle - this is how I feel. I do not ask you to agree with me. Just don't ask me to change my feelings.
I - DO - NOT - CARE - what two adults do in the privicy of their own home. But don't try to shove it down my throat and expect me to like it. If you want to be treated like everyone else, ACT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Don't go running around in a Flaming Queer gown and expect to be treated like everyone else.
A dear friend told me back in 1973 while discussing abortion.
"I fear we are opening Pandora Box." And she was right. Now there is no time limet on how far along a woman is. If she is in labor and decides she dosen't want the child, they suck the baby's brain out and throw it in the trash can.
There are no family values left in America, if you do not teach them to your kids.
(sorry, I got carried away)

i'm admittedly liberal (extra often than not), in spite of the reality that I incredibly have some ideals that i assume bypass the boundary on your section. occasion: I do have faith in the death penalty, and that it could be used extra generally. i'm additionally a intense college math instructor, in an exceptionally conservative state (Utah). youngsters of all stripes revolt against their mothers and dads. I see this first hand. Liberal, and conservative mothers and dads. it fairly isn't any longer a liberal/conservative concern. it fairly is an AMERICAN concern. And by potential of status on one portion of the aisle and hurling insults on the different, you're incredibly portion of the concern. i might recommend which you come across a thank you to alter into portion of the answer. I agree, American values have fallen, extraordinarily. youngsters at present get away with so a lot extra crap than those in my era. I additionally agree that the media performs a huge place. mothers and dads might desire to provide up working 80 hour artwork weeks and start up up spending extra time with their toddlers. you will possibly call that a "liberal" theory, yet how else are you able to supervise, censor, regulate, and regain administration of those foul mouthed, dishevelled pants, and pregnant youngsters? the value could be your individual own backside greenback. much less artwork potential much less pay...despite the fact that it fairly is for the sake of our toddlers, and the sake of our united states. Do it for united statesa.!! As a instructor, i'm getting a lot of time with my youngsters. My 2 daughters are ok behaved, appreciate examining and school, do no longer play video games, and that i might say stay under a stricter roof than many of their "conservative" opposite numbers.

Who says family values are in decline? That is just a myth.
Today's families live longer, healthier lives, have better access to education, women are more empowered, people have the ability to MAKE CHOICES like getting a divorce that can actually help them get out of a miserable relationship, gays can finally see a measure of decent acceptance in society and can fulfill their basic human needs like having a loving family and people in general live in a society that as a whole is wealthier than any other in the history of mankind.
I see no decline in family values at all.
PS: There was a time when Christianity ruled supreme over western civilization. We now call that time "THE DARK AGES".

PS#2: On the abortion issue:
During the Reagan years (1981-1988) there were 12,615,900 abortions. During the Clinton years (1993-2000) there were 10,972,420 abortions in the USA. There were 1,643,480 FEWER abortions (13% decline) during the Clinton administration. Explain that one, cons.

Ask yourself what Freedom of Religion means. Freedom of Religion in the United States allows all citizens to worship any book they deem fit for their religion. In other words, all religions are allowed to be worshipped in the United States. There are only about 4 countries that allow that type of freedom.
Family values are not in decline. It's up to the individual to decide on who they want to worship. So, ask yourself another question. Why would you want the Christian God in school, if we have Freedom of Religion? Free to worship only one God in school? That is inadvertantly oppression and that is how people see it. Not all people, but more than the majority.
Funny how you use the terms illegitimate children and promiscuity, when speaking of abortions and how they are 'on demand' If aborition is so bad then inadvertantly you are supporting Promiscuity b/c it is so 'common now'. I am a Consertative don't get me wrong, but times are changing and years after we die our world will be very different than what we experience now as a society.
You live in the free'st society on the planet. You are free to be as conserative as you want. As I stated in this letter: There is more than one religion in this world, so not every person in the world believes the way we do. Nor can we make them change. It must come from withinn a person, and not oppressing our views into another. People are will inherently do what you tell them not to do. If you preach and preach and preach, there will always be a bad apple in the group. After you have tens of millions that worship in a Freedom of Religion society, that group of bad apples becomes humongus, and eventually outnumbers you b/c they want the Freedom to be as free as they want.
That's my answer.

6. Not being able to beat your kid's *** when they do something wrong or you face abuse charges.
7. Two incomes are needed now, so there is less parenting.
8. Religion stays at home or in church. It does not need to be in a public school.
9. The overall quality of parenting has gone down. Kids don't know how to act in public. Parents think the mall, movies, and restaurants are babysitters. They drop them off and go.
10. The increase of single parent homes.
11. The lack of affordable day care.
12. People who have kids must be in a financial position to have them. A lot don't.

Do you know any non-Republicans??? The ones I know do not have alternative lifestyles. They do not have illegitimate children. In fact some I know have adopted children or are foster parents. I don't know of any that have had abortions. The ones I know are Christians. And yes the ones I know are politically correct. Another term for being PC is being polite. I cannot possible see how being polite can harm anyone.

I am a liberal but I see two main root causes: 1) Change in societal values & attitudes. Homoesexuality, divorce, single-parent status, abortion are no longer societal stigmas. Also, most of use are waiting longer to marry...avg. marrying age is 28 compared to early 20's several moons ago. Further,
2) Greate economic power across the board. No erstrictions as to who can performe what job compared to a edcade ago when most professions were dominated by white heterosexual males...

I think the decline evolves around lowering our standards as a society in general.
For example, I watched this interview with Jimmy Stewart once where he said his father refused to watch a movie he made once. In the movie he held up a pair of women's panties in a courtroom.
Another example is a great old movie I saw once where the father was telling his son that had gone off to college that he could be unfaithful to his future wife... he didn't understand and his dad explained that even when you are single, behaviors such as having a lot of sex, etc... are corrupting your values and being unfaithful to the women he will someday marry.
My pt is that today it just seems we have lost respect for ourselves. IE, my neighbor's 17 year old son literally admits he is trying to have sex with as many women as he can.
Also, teaching ppl tolerance of ppl that are not like them and are different has nothing to do with family values. Family values are in each families home and up to each family.

The lack of personal responsibility.
How do any of the things you mention detract from your own personal morality? Two guys living together doesn't detract from my marriage.
You don't have to worry about abortions if you are responsible with your intimate relationships.
I don't believe in God (agnostic) and I don't lie, steal, or cheat (Christians, contrary to their popular belief, do not have a monopoly on morality.)
Really the biggest problem could be people that just say there's a problem instead of leading by example and living the virtues they value.
