No. There are many classical tunes referred to as "songs" that had no words, at least originally. Sometimes words are added by someone else later. Song of India (by Rimsky-Korsakov) is one that I can think of. Mendelsohnn wrote a piece he called "Song Without Words". There are many more.

Not in the least. Vocals are just another instrument. They're no more important than the part that is written for them.

.a song contains words .music is still music without lyrics but to make it a song I think it must contain words.
