Being a natural skeptic, I'm always inclined to the explanation of subtle, intentional or unintentional manipulation by the users.
Having studied a wide range of spiritual material, from many sources (I used to be an Intelligence officer, and some of the groups I tracked were Satanic cults, therefore I read up on a lot of their popular work.), I can say it's very interesting that people on "both" sides of spiritual issues claim the Ouiji board can be a dangerous conduit of supernatural forces.
Who the heck really knows? Is it just typically used by folks who lead "alternative" lifestyles, therefore it's around when people meet unusual fates? Could be. Is it just a fun, spooky, campfire myth? Could be. Do you think if it were capable of truly unleashing hell, somebody would've already done it? I think so.

Fun. I used to sike my friend out..thinking that the chandelier piece we used from a place that we both lived at in New Orleans...actually was calling spirits.LOL My friend is pretty smart, too! Should have seen the frightful expression on her face about the poor little boy....it's amazing how you can depict things that affect people and manipulate them into being convinced that an occurrence is indeed fact. (A little psychological test I conducted).
