Most of the time with remote desktop and remote assistance the other person has to accept that you're first going to shadow over their screen then when you try to take over they have to allow you to take over.. so get your brother to get online at the same time and then direct connect to him, and let him allow you to take control over his pc.

the won't have a similar IP handle on the inner community, yet once you employ a firewall or router, that is generally the router/firewall handle it rather is seen with the aid of exterior instruments. in case you do an ipconfig on the two structures, one could be 192,168.0.2 and the different 192.168.0.3, (those are on a subnet reserved for inner maximum networks, and are on no account valid on the typical public internet) yet once you flow to an exterior internet site the firewall interprets them to a valid public handle a impressive style of the time the firewall does Port handle translation, so any connection coming from the inner community comes from a single IP handle. i've got controlled a company community with 3500+ computers, and all of them appeared to apply a single IP handle while connecting to the internet. risk is that's the IP of your router that have been given banned.

You can use remote assistance if you both have Windows XP. Click start, Help and Support, then Remote assistance.
