Frampton never made the guitar talk. He used uses a talk box extensively on this album. A talk box is a musical sound effects device that allows a musician to modify the sound of a musical instrument by changing the shape of the mouth. The effect can be used to shape the frequency content of the sound. By singing/talking in the same note as being played on guitar, creating an illusion that the guitar is talking.
The most recognizable songs from the album are "Show Me the Way", "Baby, I Love Your Way", and "Do You Feel Like We Do"(which uses the talkbox the most), all of which were released as singles, and continue to receive much airplay on classic rock radio stations.
I hope this clears up the mystery for you :-)

Peter Frampton is famous for his use of the talk box in the 14-minute epic "Do You Feel Like We Do", and the shorter "Show Me the Way". "Do You Feel Like We Do" can be found on the 1973 album Frampton's Camel.

Show Me the Way. (He used that device a few times on that live album.) I guess the one you're really looking for is Do You Feel Like We Do?
