Why do some Asians Stare?

Notice that I said some bc I did not want to categorize the whole race or sound racist.. however, I went in to Chinese restaurant the other day, and the female waitresses would not stop staring at me. Now, I am African American.. but their were other African American males and females their but the waitressses seemed to have their eyes on me. I did not smell funny or dress weird. The only thing I could think of is that it is bc I have my hair cut short, but why would they be fascinated by that if that is the reason?

Actually, not only do i get stared at from asians, but other people do it as well. Especially in stores and it happend mostly from females. I try to smile but they don't so i don't know what the prob is. Males also stare but they are a lot more friendlier. The reason, I asked about asians is bc there were not discreet with it at all, and it made me feel uncomfortable.

By the way, I have heard that they stare bc people are fat however.. I am thin and short.

i'm asian, so here are a couple of thoughts:

1. there may be a unique look to you that the people are looking at.

2. when i get stared at, i stare right back. people still stare at me like i'm exotic or rare or they've never seen an asian before. now i don't mean to sound rude or mean, but maybe you were staring at her in that same manner. i stare back to let people know that they are doing the same thing.

Fat people stare at me a lot too. I'm rather thin. They're either jealous or admiring. And why some Asians stare more than others may be a cultural thing.

You may look Asian to them because a lot of black people have Asian features I date Asian women from time to time and so of them have a low opinion of black people not all of them but for the most part they do as most other races I love Asian women they are so feminine

If you're noticeably thin or short, then maybe that could be the reason. If it is, then maybe you should put on some weight;).
