In Algebra there is the FOIL method to solve equations but does anyone know what the DOTS method is???

DOTS stands for Difference Of Two Squares. This is a factoring method:

x^2 - y^2 would factor out to (x + y)(x - y)

Also, you can turn ANY quadratic equation into a sum/difference of two squares. That's exactly where the quadratic formula comes from.
