If money isn't a problem then go for it.

Of course. It is called preventative maintenance, fixing a major problem BEFORE it causes damage. For instance, if a timing belt breaks, and can screw up the timing and a lot of stuff, but if you go in and they check it, they can usually tell when it is starting to get worn out and needs to be replaced. I am sure the checkup will cost a lot less than the cost of getting your whole engine fixed.

It pretty much depends on the vehicle, its use and its reliability.

On a known reliable car, you can save money by picking some "must" items out of the schedule and get those changed by a good mechanic. (for example, timing belt)

You know that, even without warranty coverage, your car will not let you down.

In the other hand, If your car is not that reliable and/or repairs are outrageously expensive, stick with the Schedule and cover your wallet with the warranty.

As someone else stated, it is preventative maintenance. Sure, you may not have problems if you don't get it done, but it would prevent problems from happening by catching anything abnormal before it becomes a problem. Almost like a yearly check-up with your doctor. You wouldn't want to wait to get yourself checked out until you have a large tumor.
