Not sure if it is a law, but it is dangerous. I have read stories where the parent would fall asleep and roll over on top of the child and smother them.

I've never heard of this before. A lot of parents would be in trouble, wouldn't they? I am sure the laws are different in many states and countries so I can't be certain of my answer. I know where I live, you can't cohabitate with a child over a certain age in your room, I think 4 and DEFINITELY not of the opposite sex.

i don't think it is a criminal offence but it can be dangerous, if you roll over you could hurt or even suffocate the child.

No its not against the law although many health proffesionals would warn against it. I slept with all three of mine and found it very effective as the baby is more likely to sleep better with you.

no, it is not illegal, however it is not sensible either as there are quite a lot of babies killed this way every year, it is clearly a preventable cause of death. How would you feel if you did this by mistake?
