Mine was given to me by my father back when I was sixteen or so, and I have found it to be incredibly true:

"When you fall in love with a girl, remember: If you marry her, you marry her entire family. Keep that in mind."

"Never sit too close at the ballet, it loses its illusion"
It means, basically, even the most impressive person from afar will prove to be human as well and not the superhuman that we want him/her to be. Won't always live up to perfection.

The best advice I got was from an old boss (who didn't like me, BTW). I was young and had a real attitude about pitching in and helping. When I left the job (on bad terms, I might add), she pulled me aside and said, "It'll help you a lot in the future if instead of saying 'That's not my job," you say, 'What can I do to help?'" I took her advice, and to this day my bosses always note that I have a great attitude. It's even helped me to hold onto jobs when there were "cutbacks" being made.

It just goes to show that sometimes the best advice comes from the most unlikely places!

I have two both from my Grams

'Have love and understanding for all people regardless of race or religion'

and

'Always be a good listener; you will learn a lot thins way.'

They changed my life I when from a loud mouth close minded teen to a quite open minded women.

When you feel not quite right or crazy just do what normal people do , brush your hair, take a walk, wash the dishes etc. until those feelings pass.

There's no need to get up in front of a huge group of people and make a azz out of yourself, just don't go there.
(I see people do this quite often)

Nothing is as bad as what you are thinking it is.

I've been given a lot of good advise, to much to list them all here.

I was very timmid all through High School. I really wanted to ask out this one girl but was affraid of rejection. A friend of mine at the time told me that no matter what "the worst thing she can do is say no". And it was true, no matter what you are doing, the worst thing that can happen is usually not really that bad.

Every time i regret something and keep looking back on it i remember what someone special once said to me:

"if you keep looking back, you will never look forward and see what you have infront of you"

and then i realise i need to focus on the present not the past :)

"When you fall in love with a girl, remember: If you marry her, you marry her entire family. Keep that in mind."

...and upon divorce they evaporate into thin air

Thing's ain't always what they seam. You've gotta ask yourself "IS IT WORTH IT?!" Because the day comes, earthmakers gonna come down and look right into your f***** heart! And then you'd better know what it is your doin. Are you a human being? Or just some hungry ghost out there?
