How many of you immediately thought "Gross!"
Is it really gross though? You feed it to your baby, right? Would you give some thing gross to your own child?
Have you ever tasted your own breastmilk?

Breastmilk is actually very sweet. It tastes like melted vanilla ice cream.
They actually give breastmilk to cancer patients and organ transplant patients, burn patients, because breastmilk is so good for you.
I would never taste formula though. That stuff smells nasty enough, I can't imagine how it tastes.

well, being male, no, i haven't tried my own, as i don't have. Would i try some from a woman, sure will, if she is willing to breast feed me...
I didn't think gross the first time i read it, I thought it was a weird question, and a fun one to answer, hehehe
Have it this way... have you ever had oral sex? that should be more gross than that...

Breastmilk isn't gross for babies. It's the best thing for babies.
I have never tasted my own breastmilk.Don't think I could.It's fluid coming out of my body intended for my children, but the thought doesn't seem right.

I've tried my own...and it isn't gross. It tastes(to me) like the milk in the bottom of a bowl of frosted flakes. I also(as someone else pointed out) wouldn't serve it with cookies are chug down a big glass, but I have no issues tasting what my son eats. Also....I bet you all would freak out if you knew all the other uses breast milk has....like curing eye and ear infection(yes, I've squirted it in my older sons ears and eyes as opposed to antibiotics)....it even helps with acne!

Ya I've tasted my own...and it's sweet ...not gross at all..
Carol and I can't remember her name from Friends...(you remember the TV Show??) decribed it best...it kinda tastes like canteloup juice....
I've tasted formula too...THATS frigging gross...
I figure if I'm gonna make my baby eat anything ...I should be brave enough to taste it first...lol..that's one of the many reasons we opted to skip the formula...nasty...
Breastmilk....It's not gross...I wouldn't serve up a pitcher full with a plate of cookies and sit down to a movie...but it's certainly not gross. lol

Yes I have tasted my own breast milk. It has a sweet taste to it. I was curious and wanted to know plus if it's going in my baby I want to know what it tastes like.

Yes I would. And yes I have. It tastes like skim milk with a lot of suger in it. Breastmilk is the best!

I have never tried it as I am a little squirmish as it does come out of my body...just doesn't seem right. I have never tasted formula either and each of my girls had it at some point before the were a year old as well.
The guy that was the best man in our wedding swore it was the best tasting stuff ever....when his wife had each of their children she would express glasses of it just so he could drink it...yuck!!

No I did not think gross. Yes I did try it and it tastes sweet. There is nothing wrong with tasting it.

Tasted it before, nothing special, just liquid. Why gross? Tasted it out of curiosity, that's human, right?
