Cookies are not spyware. They are small text files. When you visit a site, a cookie (small text file) is put on your computer. If you go back to that site, the cookie tells it what your interests are. The advertisements are then adjusted to meet your interests based on your last visit. The cookie has none of your personal information. That cookie cannot be used by any other website or program.

There are cookies known as "Third party cookies" you should block from your computer. They are not needed.

Go to the Tools>Internet Options>Privacy tab>Advanced button>check the box for "Override Automatic cookie handling">go to "Third Party cookies" and dot the Block option>Click OK>OK.

Your PC is probably infected by spyware which does exactly that. Download AVG free from the internet or buy Norton Internet Security to get rid of it. In future turn on the cookie blocker.

(1) Select tools
(2) Select Internet options.
(3) Select privacy
(4) Select one of the higher selections the higher the security the more cookies it blocks.

You can get tracking cookies from any site, it lets them (obviously) track your activity, all you have to do is delete your cookies to get rid of them, you don't have to download a program or anything.. they are mostly harmless to, so don't worry.
