It thinks that it is in US mode, the long way is to go into "My Computer" - "Control Panel" and "Regional Settings", change the keyboard setting back to "English UK".
There is a shortcut which usually works
Press Left-Arrow, + Alt, + Shift at the same time - each time you do this, it cycles through your available keyboards, try it once - it should work first time.

You are using the United States keyboard layout in your settings.

Go to CONTROL PANEL
Go into REGIONAL & LANGUAGE OPTIONS
Click on the LANGUAGES tab at the top
Click DETAILS
Click ADD
NOW ADD THE ** UNITED KINGDOM ** OPITION
Set UNITED KINGDOM as the DEFAULT option.

I always REMOVE / DELETE the US layout from my settings.

Hope this helps :-)
