They are just communicating to each other ,depending on what type of frog you have in your garden.
Toads make sounds too, a sort of trilling sound, so it may be a mixture of the two.
Frogs and toads trill back and forth to each other, to stake out territories and to attract mates. Also, males do it to scare off any other males in the area, by trying to be louder and more "puffy" than the others,to appear to be bigger and meaner.

frogs communicate with another by making a hih pitched squeek. you most likely have spring peepers living in your yard. ways to tell if they are peepers- a bunch of them together sounds like bells, they sing all night long, is itsy bitsy and red, brown, green, or a hazel color, have markings on back that looks like a diamond. hope that helps. if you need frog help, ask to pro (me)! frogs also call out when there is danger approching or when in pain. fyi, frogs r not reptiles, but amphibians. :-)

They are calling for a mate. They also may be establishing their little territories.
Unless you are stepping on them to make them squeel, the noise is just as natural to them as speaking is to you.

Probably communicating, or calling its friend from far away, if that bother you just shoo them away.

If you are not hurting them, and nothing is eating them, then it's probably communication.
