Anyone a fan of Lille here?
First, this bastards say that there was no problem.
Then, they say it was fake tickets that caused the trouble, United fans packed themselves in the small stand.
Then it was because of drunk fans.
Then it was because of fans trying to get on the pitch.
Now, they are saying Giggs goal wasn't legal and they are protesting.
What crap.
They won't get kicked out of the competition for their actions of the pitch, but they deserve to be for the crap they're pulling now.
If this was the other way around; ie, United had a crappy pitch, a crappy stadium, and our fans pushed their up against crappy barriers, United would already be penalised and stipped of the place the CL.
But, because its a French club, because of Platini, Lille gets by without as much as a slap on the wrist.

Though the referee gave permission for the free kick, Uefa may feel that a whistle should've been used to signal restart of time. Michael Platini, the FRENCH president of Uefa, is most likely to be incredibly biased and try to support Lille. The appeal for this incident (a second meeting will occur to discuss lille's behaviour at a later date) could lead to a replay of the game before the second leg is due 2 weeks later, hence the date for this being set as Friday

there is as much chance of uefa upholding this appeal as giving UNITED a by.
worst case senario, the match to be replayed as this would make out the ref to be incompentent.
probable result, heavy fine for lille, and french fa told to get their house in order, re policing of the match.

the goal was legit.. the referee asked giggs if he wanted the wall at 10 yards giggs said no and the ref walked away.. the ref was right to allow the goal and it was the players of lille who are to blame for not paying attention.. i am no man utd fan but i say well done for a good piece of innivative thinking

They won't as it WAS a legitimate goal. We have all seen the referee gesticulate to Giggs to play on. Lille are full of crap!

No chance at all of this been upheld. The referee has made the final decision in allowing the goal. It would set a precedent if it was successful

They'll kick their appeal out as the referee awarded a goal and they'll back their officials decisions.

Didn't know you could appeal. if it turns out you can appeal a referee's decision football will die in a storm of appeals, every club will appeal every decision that they dont like.
