Nothing really but be careful when washing jeans and nice shirts. If the label reads- cold only- do it because it keeps the colors from fading. If you wash them in warm- turn them inside out-it helps. Another thing- I heard on the news a while back that if you wash using cold water it saves on your bill - but don't know for sure. Although, I would assume that cold water does not run the boiler, right? Anyway, Have fun washing your clothes! :)

I've always heard, if all else fails, wash EVERYTHING in cold water. Warm water will probably either make it shrink, the color to fade, or stains to sit. I wouldn't advise washing any type of clothing in warm water unless it specifically asks for it. If all else fails wash it in cold water, gentle cycle, that way it won't get all messed up.

Depending on the fabric, washing in warm may shrink the material. Washing in cold my not do any harm. I have never had any problems washing items in cold when care instructions call for warm wash. Something else to keep in mind is the fabric's colorfastness. Washing the item in warm may make the color bleed or fade. ;)

If it say to wash with cold water and you wash it with warm water, you're more than likely going to see color fade and it may shrink but if it says to wash in warm water and you wash in cold, it's likely to not get as clean.

confident. you could continually wash some thing in chilly water. The temperature on the tag is the optimal temperature to apply. So, hence, you basically might on no account wash it in warm water.

It depends on the material. Worst case scenario with the warm water, it'll fade. Worst case scenario with the cold water, it'll shrink. If it fades, you can buy RIT color at WalMart, Target, Walgreens or whatever discount/drug store is in your area and restore it back to its original color. If it shrinks, don't put in the dryer - not even on fluff setting. Try to stretch it back to its normal shape using sweater blocks. If you can't, it's a loss.

It depends...with towels you want to wash with hot water because it cleans them better, but with jeans you want to wash them on cold so that they wont shrink, and with shirts and other things you want to read the washing instructions because of shrinkage as well.

Either way it can discolor or shrink at an enormous rate. It can also literally burn your clothes so that there is a burn mark on them. It can also make them fall apart...like the side seams will actually start to undo. So i would advise you never to do it.

nuthing really as far as the colors. but as far as whites you may need to listen to that because the bleach does something to the clothes in warm water.. i just can't remember what!
