My hamster is almost 2 years old. I heard that their life expectancy is about 2 years. What should I do with her remain whenshe dies? What do people usually do? What would you do? It would be a very sad day for me. It'll be good if she'll be on Guiness for living 100 years. I intend to live till at least 150.

She may not die soon, mine live for 7 years. When she does you have (to me) three options. One:hold a funeral in the back yard, Two: take her to a vet and have her cremated (you can keep the ashes or throw them somewhere) Three: take her to a vet and they will permanently keep the remains (you don't want to know). Hope this helped!!! And don't plan on her dieing soon.

What I did for my favorite hamster was to take him to my favorite place on a hill by a river and put him in a box and buried him(very deep). I miss him a lot and when ever I take a walk down there i stop and talk to her.I know i sound really lame, but i just loved him a lot.By the way, that hamster lived for about 3 and a half years.
Thanks

While most people would just bury them in their yard, it may be difficult if you live in an apartment or rent a house. You can also call your local veteriarian's office to see if you can have her cremated. You can choose if you'd like to have her cremated communally, which means you would not get her ashes returned to you--this option is usually pretty inexpensive. Some vets might not charge you at all, since it is such a small animal. You might also be able to have the ashes returned to you--this option tends to be more pricey, although again since hamsters are such small animals I don't know how much they would charge.

I have no idea. It upsets me too much and I make my man take care of it. I suspect that the poor little baby gets wrapped up and put in the trash bin. If I weren't such a cry-baby weenie, I'd probably dig a little grave and put it in a box and bury it. I hope your little hamster lives a good long time! It's too sad when they die.

What good timing...I discovered yesterday that our hamster was dead! Luckily my daughter is gone for the week!!! I plan on 'telling' her that I buried it, but to be honest I picked up everything - cage and all - and put it in a garbage bag! (it's a rodent!) When she had time for the hamster it was great and he was great - very talkative and lovable. Then as other pets came into the house I think he died of a broken heart!

Think of a spot to bury him right now. Thats what we did when our dog got old. The day he died, there was no confusion. We planted a white rose bush over his grave and visit him often. It gives us all a moment to cherish when we feel really lucky to have had him 12 long years.

When my hamster died I buried her in my backyard and made sure she was deep enough that no wild animals would dig her up. Mine lived almost 3 years before she passed away.

give it a nice little funeral down in some bushland and bury it in a box

I do not recomend in your back yard if you have a dog,

as it will only get dug up

Most people bury the pets in their back yards that they are close too.
