Personally I think my husband is... amused by my current "induction method" of choice. Sex is the only thing I have been able to find any hard (pardon the pun) research on. It seems the sperm has something (can't rember what its called off the top of my head) in it that can cause the cervix to start softening and thinning. And female orgasm and nipple stimulation have been shown to cause uterine contractions to start. Hey, if I'm wrong at least it fun ...which is more than I can say for castor oil or blue cohosh (or what ever its called)

NO.....

First, don't resort to herbal methods to induce labor, unless you are ready to take the blame for any damage to you and the baby.

You shouldn't induce labor unless you are fully dilated! Why would you want your uterus to start pushing the baby out if your cervix is still closed? That is terribly painful! Think of yourself and the baby.

Second, Castor oil should absolutely NOT be taken.

Third, I believe maybe you got the idea about Raspberries from the fact that Raspberry LEAVES in tea can help menstrual problems. They are actually NOT recommended during pregnancy.

Just be brave and wait out your pregnancy. The baby isn't coming because he/she isn't ready yet. It isn't just you anymore...it is the baby's health that is important too.

You'll do great! Don't worry...try to enjoy carrying the baby.

i don't have a lot advice, yet i'll be watching the respond on your questions for ideas. i'm interior an analogous boat. i'm due in below a wk and my infant continues to be floating slightly. My first became over 2 weeks previous due and that i became brought about and don't want to flow down that highway back. I even have been attempting walking, intercourse, sitting on yoga ball, squats, pineapple... I have already got terrible heartburn so i'm unlikely the spicey nutrients direction... yet! I did each physique of those issues at an analogous time as preg with my son too and that they did no longer help flow issues alongside. for my area i'm unlikely to attempt castor oil... it sounds slightly risky for me. maximum suitable of luck!!! :o)

sex & moving i've heard helps.
the raspberry thing is false. i think you may be thinking of rasberry leaf tea, which is used during pregnancy to tone the uterus, "Red Raspberry leaf does not start labor or promote contractions. It is NOT an emmenagogue or oxytocic herb. What it does is help strengthen the pelvic and uterine muscles so that once labor does start the muscles will be more efficient."

i tried almost everything i heard. (except the Castor oil, i wouldn't do that either). i drank prune juice, walked around the mall, cleaned the house, oh yes... and lots of sex..... NOTHING worked for me. i ended up just going to the hospital and getting induced.

Yes rasberries will induce labor but also walking and having sex will to as well.
