Are we being manipulated by fear and the words "for your safety and security" in order for the powers at be to gain more information on us?.
ID Cards, DNA samples, Personal details, Security Cameras everywhere, Cell phone Triangulation, the possiblity of black boxes in cars and personal histories can all be requested in order to preserve "our safety and security".

Are we allowing ourselves to be manipulated through fear, or is it justified?.
Why is this Government so intent on monitoring us?.

As far as I've ever been able to figure out, the primary function of all governments is self preservation. Governments are only interested in the well being of the population to the extent that they are able to provide some service to the government. Any and all actions by the government, as far as I can see are directed towards that sole purpose.

Don't forget a record number of 'phone taps either. The 9/11 terrorists were in the US legally, how would id cards help with security? We are being watched all the time. I can drive or fly around Europe without having to show a passport, in the UK even your postcode gives away your exact location. I live in Germany and if you show this to a German using multimap.com they are horified.

Don't forget "terrists" (or Poland either, for that matter)

9/11 scared the sheeple into accepting whatever the government tried to ram down their throats for a long time, but fortunately a lot of people are rightly asking themselves whether it's worth the sacrifices of our Constitutional rights we've had to accept.

All governments, historically and currently, seem intent on controlling the populace as much as they possibly can. It's up to us to stop them. Fortunately in the UK there are some ways to make your voice heard and your opinion count. Unfortunately there aren't enough of them, and not enough people take advantage of the ones we have.

No it is not justified. Whoever thinks that big brother security is going to protect us is foolish. It will just create a more sophisticated criminal. You know it, I know it, they know it. Someone is going to get rich from this and the government will be able to keep better tabs on their enemy's.
