When you multiply two variables w/ powers, you add their powers together. When you divide, you subtract the power of the denominator from the power of the numerator.

When you raise a power to another power, you multiply those powers together.

1. (a^-2/a^5)^-1 = (a^-7)^-1 = a^7

2. (b^-2/b^-5)^-2 = (b^3)^-2 = b^-6 = 1/(b^6)
