DURING her period would be the safest to prevent pregnancy, even then, you're not completely safe. if she knows exactly when she's ovulating your method MIGHT work, but you're risking it. it is around the time of ovulation that you're most likely to get her pregnant. check out this link http://www.americanpregnancy.org/gettingpregnant/understandingovulation.html
it might help you understand a little better.

Hun, having unprotected sex will result in a pregnany eventually. How old is your girlfriend? You sound young. If she is young as well, her cycle probably isn't set in stone. She needs to know when she ovulates. She probably doesn't and won't without stringent charting or ovulation prediction tests. Its highly unlikely that either will work with a young couple because she wouldn't have the discipline. There is no "safe time" because different factors can affect ovulation from month to month. Read the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" or visit a site like www.mymonthlycycle.com for more information. You sound terribly uninformed but I'm happy you are looking for more info. Best of luck.

From what I hear there is possibility for a woman to get pregnant any time during her cycle, but the time that she is most likely to get pregnant is when she's ovulating, which is normally 2 weeks after her period. But keep in mind that she can get pregnant ANY TIME. Do you really wanna take your chances? There are other forms of birth control other then the pill and condoms.

Always Use protection if you don't want a baby. Sperm can live up to 5 days, that means assuming she has a 28 cycle, and ovulates on cycle day 13 or 14, and has a five day period, if you have sex the day her period stops, your sprem can still be swiming on cycle day 11. and trust me a girls cycles can be VERY unprodictable, and she may ovulate early and your screwed.

How does the old joke go - "what do you call a couple who practice the rhythm method? Mommy and Daddy."

Using the natural family planning or rhythm method is only about 17% accurate against pregnancy and 0% against STDs. Wrap it up man!

When you no longer call her your girlfriend....(wife)....That would be a pretty good place to start.....Might also want to have a job, your own car and place to live....And make enough money to support three people if needed....Or if you don't have all that in line yet or your not ready for the "family" thing you might reconsider the use of a condom....There really are enough children in the world for now.....ss

I agree with all the advice you've been given above..but I think you're asking about ovulation. Below is a link, and the more you know about it the more I think you'll agree that this method is kind of chancey! Maybe you should wait untill you're talking about men and women rather than girls and boys.

I would use precaution (contraceptive) if you don't want to get pregnant!! Natural can come after you are married and are ready for kids. It's kinda like playing with fire, there is really no safe way to do it with out protection!!

No offense but from the way you typed that question, you sound like a child. Any sex without protection is dangerous. YOU NEED TO USE PROTECTION OTHERWISE YOUR "GIRL FREN" WILL GET PREGNANT!!!
