well.. DSL can only be used with telephone line.

If you subscribe to the same DSL Company, you might be able to use it.. but unfortunately different companies use differnt types of DSL/Cable Modems, so you'll probably have to buy/rent the modems that whichever DSL/Cable company you're going to subscribe next.

I have 2 DSL modems somewhere in my garage... I thought "Someday" I would use it.. but nope. Now I'm using Cable... and I don't buy the modem, just rent. Give them back when I unsubscribe.

hi,

ADSL technology is use for basically Broadband Telephony & Internet acess. For that you need in between basic telephone exchange line. so if you right now not connected with BSNL or any others like TATA landline or reliance landline or others than your ADSL modem is not useful to you. just scap it or take it anybody that use it.

If it is very good working condition than give me I'll give you Rs. 500 bucks.

regards,
paresh

Yes, DSL modems only work on DSL connections. And as the previous poster explained, different phone companies use different brands & models, which must match the equipment at their end. So a Speedstream modem might work with AT&T but not Verizon, which uses Fujitsu and so on...

If you don't need it anymore, sell it on Ebay- there are many people out there looking to replace DSL modems that have stopped working, who don't want to purchase a new one from their DSL provider.
