sorry, but: no you can not. At the moment the purchase deal is rounded up, the price to be paid for wild oats is extablished, and will result in a certain per share price in the conversion. By the time we hear about it, there is no more money to be made in deals like this.

If you divide the purchase price of wild oats with the outstanding shares, then you will get to the price WF will pay for each share. That is real close to the current market price and has nothing to do with the market price of WF.

Wild Oats shareholders will be given shares of Whole Foods Stock. They will NOT be given share for share.

In the simplest terms, if you own 10 shares of Wild Oats worth $10 each ($100 total) and Whole Foods is selling for $20 each, you'll get 5 shares of Whole Foods.

That is by no means exact but is is approximately what they do when a company is sold.

I believe Whole Foods has agreed to pay $18.50 a share for Wild Oats stock if I read the news release right.
