Parenthetical citations can go in once every few paragraphs if the same source is being used. However, I do recommend making your last sentence of each paragraph revolve around your topic sentence, and made up (Jay, 2007). That way the parenthetical citations don't look out of place, but it's not necessary.

Sometimes it will be necessary to use multiple sources in the same paragraph. Adding multiple sources adds depth to your paper (Ringold, 2004). Using multiple sources in your paper shows the instructor that you took an interest in thoroughly researching your topic (Jay, 2007). Multiple sources are important for any well written paper.

Remember to always back up your knowledge with sources. I do not understand why your instructor wants you to just write the paper without backing up your knowledge with a source. Thorough research will show that you not only know what you are writing about, but the information is a fact (Jay, 2007). I am glad to see that you are backing up your knowledge with sources.

I hope this makes better sense. I know that I struggled when I first started learning APA format in college. Parenthetical citations are difficult to understand at first, but once you get the hang of it, they will be smooth sailing (Jay, 2007). Good luck to you, and I hope I made some sense.

I doubt that you are expected to turn in a paper recapping your classes, although that will necessarily be a part of it.

I think you need to look up some other sources to expand on some facets of what you learned in class.

But definitely, ask your teacher.
