Think of a certain thing they have done/said/own and think of the positive attributes, then thell them about it. Cheer them on when they are doing something. Make sure you know they are appreciated. Say Thank You, and really mean it.

A handwritten note or an e-mail is great. Especially if it's at work - be sure to cc their boss & their bosses boss. They'll really appreciate that!
If you are their boss, they will appreciate the note too so that they can keep it on file.

be honest and sincere and dont be afraid to compliment...we need more people to notice the good of others..and it makes you feel more confident also...if I have a great day at work , I thank my co-workers for their help in it because they have a great deal to do w/ how my day flows..and vice-versa
