Thinking of switching from Cable Broadband to DSL HighSpeed with 786 kbps will this seem estreamly slow to me?

i get confused with the different ratings .. get about at least a 3m line and a 5m is better ...

It's a lot faster than 56k, and fast enough for web browsing and e-mail. But when it comes to downloading large files, it will probably be about half the speed you're getting from cable already. The major advantage of DSL is price.
