Why are there so many "In memory of Dale Earnhardt" bumper stickers but no "in memory of" Pope John Paul ones?

I'm not a fan of religion or racing but I thought that was odd.

My guess would be that there are public heroes and private heroes. Dale Earnhardt would fall into the first category and the Pope the latter. I suppose the way they died also played into it.

Earnhardt , 50, died spectacularly though tragically via an in-race car cash whereas the Pope led a much longer marathon-type life, dying quietly at 85 due to complications from Parkinson's.

And, finally, the bumper stickers are, after all, going on the bumpers of cars and, well ... the Pope just isn't known for his driving skillz.

Pope John Paul was a great man, even tho I'm not a Roman Catholic. I honour him as a statesman and a Christian. He lived a good long and wonderful life and he is loved the world over.
Mr Earnhardt's live was good as well, but his life was cut short. People are hurt by this and their response is to invoke his memory.

it because of the way he died, the pope died of old age and it wasn't a surprise but Dale was taken form this earth in the prime of his career and that make all of us think about how fragile life can be so it has a bigger impact
