C drive is read only?

Question

My c drive will not change its attributes

every time i go onto properties and un-select read-only and i close it, when i re-open it its still read only

i have tried booting into safe mode and setting drive security and nothing seems to happen

Some of my applications are not working because of this problem

Sometimes when I try to change a setting like that, I seem to forget to click on " apply " & " OK " after clicking on the change I wish to make. I don't know if that's your problem, but it's really all I could come up with. Good luck. Hope you get it sorted out.

All folders on a disk when using WinXP are set at read only but this does not mean that you cannot delete them or write inside them.
