My husband and I both got up in the night to use the bathroom but at different times. We both saw a black hooded ghost in the kitchen. He/She was extremely tall and was just standing there. He got scared and turned on the light, it disappeared. I just went back to bed. I'm a believer and he is not. His father was in a car accident a few days later and almost died but he as now recovered.

hell yea once my big sis and my cousins were scaring me when i was 11. they said they knew how to call ghosts and witches. then started mumbling word out loud. i didn't believe that they could. then that nit i was sleeping my room and woke up because i heard a weird noise. when i woke up i saw blood on my face and the my rocking very slowly. so i looked out the window and i saw a white thing pass by then i saw a black thing laughing hehehehehe!!!! that was so scary.but then i checked the rooms to make sure it wasn't a prank my cousins and sisters were pulling. but they were all sleeping like babies and man was i scared

I have seen a similar apparition...it was wandering through my 9 acres of property at 12:30 AM....I was out with the dog...dog stared at it...I stared at it....but it just kept moving along.
Creepy thing it was....I saw it about 10 days after my father died

Weird, but there used to be one in my apartment - I mean it would come often enough, esp. during the summer months - after I got married, didnt see it again - BTW, other visitors to my apartment would often complain about feeling watched and strange things happening, i mean some were really weird, like my sister in law saw this glowing ball of light floating above her daughters head one morning in my apartment - but there was never any tradegy that followed any of my ghost sitiings..

It sounds like a wraith...
A wraith is a type of ghost that wears a hooded cloak and are generally rare. they, like banshees, etc have a good reason to appear. i think its because they have a warning... or it might be to avenge theyre death

I have seen those lots of times in mu life, I encountered three of them one night in Rapid City South Dakota five years ago.
They feed on your lifeforce (your ch'i)
They also like to put thoughts in your mind; such things as feeling helpless, feeling worthless, thoughts of commiting suicide, etc.
